Neuropsychology is the study of the relationship between the brain and behaviour. The evaluations are comprehensive and address both cognitive and characterological aspects of an individual. Assessments provide a diagnosis regarding the individual’s level of cognitive and emotional function and a medical-legal opinion regarding SABS, long-term disability and specific legal questions.

Neuropsychological evaluations are traditionally used to diagnose a suspected brain injury that may be due to physical trauma or disease and to provide treatment recommendations.

However, Neuropsychological evaluations are also used to provide a comprehensive behavioural data set for individuals suffering from depression or anxiety or other psychiatric illness in the context of long term disability or motor vehicle accident files. In this way, Neuropsychological evaluations are particularly useful to help determine an individual’s response to treatment over time and to identify potential obstacles to treatment.

Dr. Judge completed his B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Psychology from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, where he developed his proficiency in neuroscience and neuropsychology research. Subsequently, he was a research associate at the University of Toronto for three years and has published a number of articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Dr. Judge received his training in Clinical Psychology from York University and the Clarke Institute of Psychiatry where he held the position of postdoctoral intern for two years.

He has been registered with the Ontario College of Psychologists since 1992. He is also registered as a health care provider with the Canadian Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology [CRHSPP]; with the Canadian Association of Psychologists in Disability Assessment [CAPDA]; and the Canadian Society of Medical Examiners [CSME].
